Consulting

Some problems need someone who can hold the data and the story at the same time. Who understands how systems work — and what it takes to build something in a community you love. That's the work I do.

What I Bring

I have a PhD in cognitive psychology and spent five years as a data scientist in mental health tech. I've designed and analyzed surveys for the City of Hudson, built research frameworks for major corporations, and consulted on experimental design and quantitative analysis through Brain Science at Work and independently for over a decade. I am also a trained Wayfinder life coach with additional training in somatic practice — which means I bring as much attention to the human dimensions of organizational change as I do to the numbers.

The other half of what I bring can't be credentialed. I am a fifth-generation Hudsonian. I served as Executive Director of The Spark of Hudson, where I built an organization from the ground up and helped open a community-oriented building in this city. I have been President of the Hudson Area Library board and am currently President of Friends of Hudson Youth. I know this community across generations, across institutions, and across the full complexity of what it means to love a place that is always changing.

That combination — rigorous analytical training and deep civic rootedness — is rare. It is what I bring to every engagement.

What I Offer

Document & Proposal Review You've written something — a grant proposal, a strategic plan, a community initiative, a policy brief — and you want a sharp, honest set of eyes on it. I'll read closely, respond rigorously, and give you feedback that makes your work stronger.

Starting at $150 for documents up to 10 pages. Longer documents and turnaround needs quoted on request.

Survey Design & Analysis From question writing to sampling strategy to data interpretation, I design surveys that actually answer the questions you're asking — and analyze results in a way that's honest about what the data can and cannot tell you. I've done this for municipal governments and for national corporations.

Quoted by project scope.

Research & Data Analysis You have data — or you need to gather it — and you need someone who can make sense of it rigorously and translate it into something actionable. I work with quantitative and mixed-methods research, program evaluation, and statistical analysis.

Quoted by project scope.

Community Strategy & Advising You have an idea for Hudson — or for a community like it — and you want to think it through with someone who understands both the civic landscape and the human one. This is consulting at the intersection of place, power, and possibility. I'll bring my whole self to it: the researcher, the writer, the organizer, the neighbor.

$150/hour. Minimum one hour.

How It Works

Every engagement starts with a free 20-minute call so we can get clear on what you need and whether I'm the right person for it. From there, I'll send a proposal with scope, timeline, and rate. I take on a limited number of consulting clients at a time — which means when I'm in, I'm fully in.

A note on community rate I am committed to this work being accessible beyond those with the largest budgets. If you are a grassroots community organization, a neighbor with a real idea and limited resources, or a Hudson resident working toward something good — reach out anyway. We'll see what's possible.
